Official FAQ Information
WHAT PLATFORMS IS THE SPECIAL EVENT LAUNCHED ON?
We’re launching the event on PC only.
DOES PARTICIPATING IN KILL THE SERVERS! MEAN I GET INTO THE CLOSED BETA?
No, it does not. Participating in KtS! does not grant you access to the Closed Beta — although you do need to be signed up for the Closed Beta to be able to apply for KtS! Access. In short, Closed Beta and KtS! are two different things. But don’t worry if you don’t manage to get into KtS!, the Closed Beta will have plenty of spots for everyone.
IS THE NUMBER OF KTS! ACCESS KEYS UNLIMITED?
No, the number of keys is limited — access will be granted based on a first come, first served basis. We will publish exact hours of code distribution via our social media (Twitter and Facebook).
HOW LONG WILL THE EVENT LAST?
The event takes place this Friday, 23.09 from 5PM to 9PM CEST and Tuesday, 27.09 from 8PM to 12AM CEST.
WILL I BE ABLE TO CREATE MY OWN DECK DURING KTS?
No, KtS! is a stress test event and we’re not planning to enable deck building functionality for its duration.
WILL YOU WIPE MY PROGRESS AFTER THE EVENT ENDS?
As players will have no possibility of deck creation or level progressing during KtS!, we plan no data wipes (there will simply be nothing to erase).
WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY THIS BUILD OF GWENT AFTER THE EVENT?
After KtS! concludes, the test game will be removed from your shelf. No worries though, Closed Beta is coming soon, so there will be plenty of opportunities to play!
It seems we will be waiting a bit longer for the Gwent closed beta. The date has been moved to October 25th, 2016. Here’s the official information:
At E3 we announced that we’d launch the Closed Beta of GWENT: The Witcher Card Game in September. Unfortunately, we feel we need some extra time with the game before we hand it off to you for testing. We know we can make a first impression only once, and want to be sure everything is ready before we blast off. Delivering a good game is more important to us than keeping a deadline. Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t realize that delays can be disappointing, and we apologize for making you wait. Closed Beta will now begin on October 25th.

What devices will the game be available on?
Available first for Xbox One and PC. [Source]
Will the game be available on Mobile?
Focused on PC and Console/Cross-platform. [Source]
Is there special cards animated/gold etc?
Will you be able to trade cards?
“We haven’t really planned that. Things are always possible in the future but its not something that’s on our radar currently.” [Source]
How will the Free to Play aspect of the game work?
“You can purchase card packs directly or using in-game currency (which you earn by playing). You can also win cards by winning games. So the more games you win, the more in-game currency you’ll get and the more cards you’ll get. We want it to be so that you don’t have to spend money to play the game.” [Source]
What other game modes will there be?
“As for the game modes, there are other game modes planned apart from the 1v1. However we are not going to talk about that now as it is too early. We definitely want to have more game modes but we will see based on the fan reception of the game once its out.” [Source]
Will there be expansions?
We are planning to support the game for as long as we can. At the moment we are talking about our first single player campaign but obviously we would like to make more. [Source]
Here’s a current list of revealed cards from the upcoming Gwent – The Witcher Card Game. I’ll be adding more cards as they are revealed and come available!
We’ve learned some things early in the release process, one is that the Spy mechanic has been significantly changed from the Witcher 3 version of the card. Spy was one of the major ways to gain extreme card advantage with very little downside. The Spy Mechanic now reads as follows (at least in Dijkstra’s case), “When Played: Draw 2 cards from your Deck, one face up and one face down. Pick one card and put it in your Hand. Return the other to your Deck.” Spy cards used to read, “Place on your opponent’s battlefield (counts towards your opponent’s total) and draw 2 cards from your deck.” As you can see, that was pretty insane and lead to players being able to basically draw through your deck.
Currently Known Cards From Gwent – The Witcher Card Game
This post is getting a bit heavy, so check out all of the cards we have in our Gwent Card Database!
All cards are subject to change as we are early in the process, but these are the ones that have been currently revealed on the official website and the launch video.
