As you probably noticed, this is my version of Bloody Baron control. I will explain basic mulligan strategy and strategy for every single card in this deck. This deck was created as tool to punish Monster swarm gameplay, but can be good against basically anything

Mulligan strategy:
1) Remove every Biting FrostApply Frost to a row on your opponent's side. Frost: Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage one of the Lowest Units on the row by 2. from your hand
2) If you have SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. in hand, you may keep your Bloody BaronIf this Unit is in your Deck at the end of the Round, place it on top. Whenever an Enemy is Destroyed during a Round while this Unit is in your Deck, Boost it by 1. , but I usually prefer to play her little combo with BB on R2 as opener. If you don’t have her, mulligan him
3) Always keep SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. ReinforcementPlay a Bronze or Silver Unit from your Deck. Shuffle the others back. ScorchDestroy all the Highest Units. and as many Aretuza AdeptDeploy: Play a random Bronze Weather card from your Deck. s as you can
4) Try to fish for at least one Redanian KnightEvery turn, at the start of your turn, if this Unit has no Armor, Boost it by 2 and add 2 Armor to it. as it’s the best opener on R1 in case you are starting first
5) Try to get at least one Alzur's ThunderDamage a Unit by 7. , while two are okay I think having three in starting hand is overkill
6) Always keep Gold cards (except Bloody BaronIf this Unit is in your Deck at the end of the Round, place it on top. Whenever an Enemy is Destroyed during a Round while this Unit is in your Deck, Boost it by 1. ), if you have SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. , you might drop one in order to get it later
7) While ThalerDeploy: Draw the top 2 cards from your Deck. Keep 1 and shuffle the other back. is good to have, you may drop it in order to get some units you might actually play on your side

Cards explanation & strategy:

Aretuza AdeptDeploy: Play a random Bronze Weather card from your Deck. – Key card in this deck, as it pulls out your bully tool n.1. Never open with them if you’re going first, usually play when you can get max value out of Biting FrostApply Frost to a row on your opponent's side. Frost: Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage one of the Lowest Units on the row by 2.

Redanian KnightEvery turn, at the start of your turn, if this Unit has no Armor, Boost it by 2 and add 2 Armor to it. – Second and last Bronze unit in this deck. Good opener on any round, especially good while being target of a weather effect (usually Fog) as he buffs himself everytime he loses armor. This serves as my weather counter while this deck doesn’t run anything that removes weather directly

Biting FrostApply Frost to a row on your opponent's side. Frost: Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage one of the Lowest Units on the row by 2. – Best Bronze weather option for this deck, as it aims to kill weakest units, and therefore to buff your BB. Never keep in starting hand as it’s pulled out by your Aretuza AdeptDeploy: Play a random Bronze Weather card from your Deck. . One of the reasons why this deck performs so good, never cut it

Alzur's ThunderDamage a Unit by 7. – Main direct removal in this deck, buffing your Baron or putting things in killable zone for Vernon RocheDeploy: Damage an Enemy by 3. If it was Destroyed, Spawn a Blue Stripes Commando on a random row and repeat the Deploy ability (one time only). . Usually it gives you pleasant feeling as it kills opponent’s MangonelWhenever a card is Revealed, Damage a random Enemy by 2. /Savage BearAfter an Enemy is played from any Hand and its Deploy ability resolves, Damage it by 1. /OcvistAfter 4 turns, at the start of your turn, Damage all Enemies by 1, return this Unit to your Hand and Transform it into Exhausted Ocvist. right after they play it

LacerateDamage all Units on a row by 3. – Tech card against Monsters (Consume and Swarm archetypes) as it punishes them really hard. Can be cut in favor of other AoE removal as EpidemicDestroy all the Lowest Units. or Arachas VenomDamage 3 adjacent Units by 4.

Stammelford's TremorsDamage up to 6 random Enemies by 2. – Another AoE removal, usually best in combination of Biting FrostApply Frost to a row on your opponent's side. Frost: Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage one of the Lowest Units on the row by 2. or Vernon RocheDeploy: Damage an Enemy by 3. If it was Destroyed, Spawn a Blue Stripes Commando on a random row and repeat the Deploy ability (one time only). . More flexible than LacerateDamage all Units on a row by 3. as it’s much harder to play around. Killer for Swarm decks using Triss: Butterfly SpellEvery turn, at the start of your turn, Boost all other Lowest Allies by 1. as it might remove many targets for her

Dimeritium ShacklesChoose a Unit (can be Gold) and toggle its Lock. If it is Gold, Demote it first. – Tech against Golden cards. Must have in match-up against Triss: Butterfly SpellEvery turn, at the start of your turn, Boost all other Lowest Allies by 1. , mirror matchup as it demotes opponent’s BB and Consume Monsters playing Unseen ElderSpawn Unseen Elder. Deploy: Consume 3 Allies, but Strengthen instead of Boosting. . Can be cut for any other tech card

SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. – Key card, as it serves for mulliganing unwanted Bloody BaronIf this Unit is in your Deck at the end of the Round, place it on top. Whenever an Enemy is Destroyed during a Round while this Unit is in your Deck, Boost it by 1. for other Gold cards. I usually play her on R2 in order to get my VillentretenmerthAfter 3 turns, at the start of your turn, Destroy all the Highest Units on the Board. for R3. While this card can be theoretically cut, I wouldn’t do it as it would make the efficiency of this deck worse

ReinforcementPlay a Bronze or Silver Unit from your Deck. Shuffle the others back. – Must have card for any NR deck that doesn’t run Witchers. Great tool to improve your deck efficiency and get exactly the unit you need. I mostly use this to get out my SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. /ThalerDeploy: Draw the top 2 cards from your Deck. Keep 1 and shuffle the other back. , in urgent situation can be used to get out your Aretuza AdeptDeploy: Play a random Bronze Weather card from your Deck.

ScorchDestroy all the Highest Units. – Great control card to remove units from your opponent’s side and buff your BB. Be careful not to kill your SarahDeploy: Shuffle a card from your Hand (can be Gold) back into your Deck, then draw the top different card of the same color from your Deck. or buffed Redanian KnightEvery turn, at the start of your turn, if this Unit has no Armor, Boost it by 2 and add 2 Armor to it. . Makes little combo with ThalerDeploy: Draw the top 2 cards from your Deck. Keep 1 and shuffle the other back. and great annihilator with VillentretenmerthAfter 3 turns, at the start of your turn, Destroy all the Highest Units on the Board. and Bloody BaronIf this Unit is in your Deck at the end of the Round, place it on top. Whenever an Enemy is Destroyed during a Round while this Unit is in your Deck, Boost it by 1. on R3

ThalerDeploy: Draw the top 2 cards from your Deck. Keep 1 and shuffle the other back. – Usually R2 play for gaining card advantage. Can be used in R1 if you are ahead, can’t win the round or in combination with ScorchDestroy all the Highest Units. . It’s best to play him after you played some of your Aretuza AdeptDeploy: Play a random Bronze Weather card from your Deck. s in order not to get Biting FrostApply Frost to a row on your opponent's side. Frost: Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage one of the Lowest Units on the row by 2. in hand

Margarita Laux-AntilleDeploy: Reset a Unit and toggle its Lock. – Tech card against Dwarves, but good against anything that buffs self (or for healing an ally). Also, an extra lock can be always useful. Can be cut for cards like DethmoldDeploy: Spawn Torrential Rain, Clear Skies or Alzur's Thunder. or Sile de TansarvilleDeploy: You may play a Bronze Special card from your Hand. If you do, draw the top card from your Deck.

MyrgtabrakkeDeploy: Damage Units by 2, 2 and then 1. – Killing machine. This neutral dragon is good to get things close to die in frost, or to get things into Vernon RocheDeploy: Damage an Enemy by 3. If it was Destroyed, Spawn a Blue Stripes Commando on a random row and repeat the Deploy ability (one time only). ‘s killable zone. Also great against Swarm archetypes as it hits 3 times

Bloody BaronIf this Unit is in your Deck at the end of the Round, place it on top. Whenever an Enemy is Destroyed during a Round while this Unit is in your Deck, Boost it by 1. – Your main victory condition and core card of this deck (the deck is even named after him). Always keep him in your deck and for R3. Be careful as some Nilfgaard players use Dimeritium BombChoose 3 adjacent Units (can be Golds) and Reset them. If any are Gold, Demote them first. that completely counters him

VillentretenmerthAfter 3 turns, at the start of your turn, Destroy all the Highest Units on the Board. – Your victory condition n. 2. Keep him for R3 (unless you need him to win R2 after loosing R1), and bare in mind that he needs three turn to be able to kill. Be careful about cards that would demote your BB, as it would make this dragon kill him

YenneferDeploy: Spawn a Unicorn or a Chironex. – Tech card, anti-swarm legendary that usually gives you great value against this archetype. She never gives you bad value (unless there are no Bronze/Silver units on board) and while Swarm is quite popular right now, I wouldn’t cut her

Vernon RocheDeploy: Damage an Enemy by 3. If it was Destroyed, Spawn a Blue Stripes Commando on a random row and repeat the Deploy ability (one time only). – Tech card against Monsters, but is good against any kind of deck. He’s in range to 9-18 value, while on average being 15. You might cut him in order to put other Golden removal in

Optional cards:

DethmoldDeploy: Spawn Torrential Rain, Clear Skies or Alzur's Thunder. or Sile de TansarvilleDeploy: You may play a Bronze Special card from your Hand. If you do, draw the top card from your Deck. to get more removal/card draw. DethmoldDeploy: Spawn Torrential Rain, Clear Skies or Alzur's Thunder. is also good as it’s weather removal tool

EpidemicDestroy all the Lowest Units. or Arachas VenomDamage 3 adjacent Units by 4. as AoE removals

Geralt: IgniDeploy: Destroy all the Highest Units on the opposite row if that row totals 20 or more Power. Philippa EilhartDeploy: Damage an Enemy by 5, then Damage random Enemies by 4, 3, 2 and 1. The same Enemy cannot be Damaged twice in a row. Keira MetzDeploy: Spawn Quen Sign, Epidemic or Thunderbolt Potion. or Triss MerigoldDeploy: Damage a Unit by 5. as Golder removal
