With the most recent patch Skellige got way better! Who else can say that resurrect mechanics would not only hurt all the other classes, but “unintentionally” make Skellige better?! Win win this patch for Skellige!

Anyway as per every other patch, I’ve made a simple (and expensive) Skellige discard that allows the player to maximize King Bran and allow you to eventually gain advantage using all the resurrect shenanigans Skellige can take advantage of. So here’s the breakdown:

OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. combos aren’t that great anymore, since he cannot be resurrected or DecoyReturn a non-Gold, non-Relentless unit on your side to your hand, then banish.‘d. But that doesn’t mean that this card is horrible, in fact I think that OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed.  has been BROKEN from the beginning of the game. ANYWAY! You do have a few options for OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed.. One very distinct option would be SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard.Especially against  a non-Skellige matchup, since they can also take serious advantage of SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard.. The other options for OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. would be Queensgaurd and OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength.. Discarding Queensgaurd using King BranDiscard 2 cards and add 2 base strength to them. Choose any card in your deck and place it in your hand.  is a very good option as well as discarding OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength..

Round 1: You do still want to win Round 1, that part of the strategy still hasn’t changed. Fight as hard as you can and make sure you understand what deck your opponent is playing before you OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. anything. Watch out for the Mirror Match as you want to play as smart and as carefully as possible. In the Mirror Match the best option is to copy an OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength. just to keep yourself ahead in card advantage going into round 2. Against all Control matchups (Radovid and ST) you will most likely want to copy Queensgaurd as they will provide no advantage to your opponent. Against Monster you will want to copy SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard. since most Monster decks have a lot of single target/situational cards that will have no impact on your board. As a note, you want to OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. first turn since in later rounds your opponent will gain your SK passive when copying in later rounds. Don’t be afraid to use SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard. in early rounds as you will most likely draw into a RestorationAdd 2 to the base strength of a non-Gold unit in your graveyard (can be Permadeath), then resurrect it., or have kept it in your starting hand.

Round 2: So you hopefully won Round 1, at this point you want to use all your Spy cards to draw and recover from (if you had to) using King BranDiscard 2 cards and add 2 base strength to them. Choose any card in your deck and place it in your hand.. This round is the optimal round to use King BranDiscard 2 cards and add 2 base strength to them. Choose any card in your deck and place it in your hand. if you’ve won. Discarding your Queensgaurd or OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength. to gain that +2 advantage. The best cards to retrieve using King BranDiscard 2 cards and add 2 base strength to them. Choose any card in your deck and place it in your hand.  would be your draw mechanics. Birna BranDraw 3 cards. Keep 1 and discard the rest. and ErmionIf possible, discard 2 cards and draw 2 cards. are your main targets, but if you’ve already used them then (depending on the match-up) Dimeritium BombReset all units on the battlefield to their base strength. and other tech cards like RestorationAdd 2 to the base strength of a non-Gold unit in your graveyard (can be Permadeath), then resurrect it. and SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard.  are your other options, as the other cards in your deck are basically fodder.

Round 3: If you’ve made you opponent lose all, or most of their advantage then you are in great shape! In round 3 you want to have at least a copy of RestorationAdd 2 to the base strength of a non-Gold unit in your graveyard (can be Permadeath), then resurrect it.SigrdrifaResurrect a non-Gold unit (can be Permadeath). Gain 1 strength whenever a unit is played from the graveyard. or Queensgaurd as you will have at least an OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength. on board. I tend to save CerysWhen moved to graveyard, convert to Silver. for this round just incase my opponent has Borkh Three Jackdaws, ScorchDestroy the strongest non-Gold unit(s) on the battlefield. or some form of weather. Your last round will have been dictated by what rounds you’ve won previously, and how much advantage you have going into the third round.

Substitutes: If you have MorkvargWhen moved to the graveyard, lose 2 base strength and resurrect. instead of OlgierdResurrect at the start of the round and remove 2 base strength. then by all means replace him! I don’t like the fact that MorkvargWhen moved to the graveyard, lose 2 base strength and resurrect. gives you opponent too much advantage if you copy it with OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. (as this is the main objective of the deck).

If you don’t have CerysWhen moved to graveyard, convert to Silver. then Geralt is another good (budget) option. Non-budget options could include HjalmarSpawn a Lord of Undvik on the opposite side.Geralt: IgniDestroy the strongest non-Gold unit(s) on the opposite row if that row totals 20 or more strength. or RegisWhen removed from the battlefield, transform into Regis: Higher Vampire and play.. The deck honestly isn’t very budget friendly as you need OperatorChoose a non-Gold unit in your hand (other than the Operator). Create an exact copy in both players' hands. Banish when destroyed. for the flavor of this deck to work. If you do have any ideas on budget worthy replacements let me know!

Happy Gwenting!

Why Ciri? I think Lugos could work way better 🙂 But the deck is really great

Ciri was for the card advantage. After the patch Lugos was ok but nothing sucked more then having to play him after top decking the last card in the last round.
