With the most recent patch Skellige got way better! Who else can say that resurrect mechanics would not only hurt all the other classes, but “unintentionally” make Skellige better?! Win win this patch for Skellige!

Anyway as per every other patch, I’ve made a simple (and expensive) Skellige discard that allows the player to maximize King Bran and allow you to eventually gain advantage using all the resurrect shenanigans Skellige can take advantage of. So here’s the breakdown:

OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. combos aren’t that great anymore, since he cannot be resurrected or DecoyReturn an Ally to your Hand, Boost it by 3 and play it. ‘d. But that doesn’t mean that this card is horrible, in fact I think that OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands.   has been BROKEN from the beginning of the game. ANYWAY! You do have a few options for OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. . One very distinct option would be SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit. Especially against  a non-Skellige matchup, since they can also take serious advantage of SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit. . The other options for OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. would be Queensgaurd and OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. . Discarding Queensgaurd using King BranSpawn King Bran Deploy: Discard up to 3 cards from your Deck and Strengthen all Units among them by 1. Then shuffle your deck.   is a very good option as well as discarding OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. .

Round 1: You do still want to win Round 1, that part of the strategy still hasn’t changed. Fight as hard as you can and make sure you understand what deck your opponent is playing before you OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. anything. Watch out for the Mirror Match as you want to play as smart and as carefully as possible. In the Mirror Match the best option is to copy an OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. just to keep yourself ahead in card advantage going into round 2. Against all Control matchups (Radovid and ST) you will most likely want to copy Queensgaurd as they will provide no advantage to your opponent. Against Monster you will want to copy SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit. since most Monster decks have a lot of single target/situational cards that will have no impact on your board. As a note, you want to OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. first turn since in later rounds your opponent will gain your SK passive when copying in later rounds. Don’t be afraid to use SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit. in early rounds as you will most likely draw into a Restoration, or have kept it in your starting hand.

Round 2: So you hopefully won Round 1, at this point you want to use all your Spy cards to draw and recover from (if you had to) using King BranSpawn King Bran Deploy: Discard up to 3 cards from your Deck and Strengthen all Units among them by 1. Then shuffle your deck. . This round is the optimal round to use King BranSpawn King Bran Deploy: Discard up to 3 cards from your Deck and Strengthen all Units among them by 1. Then shuffle your deck. if you’ve won. Discarding your Queensgaurd or OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. to gain that +2 advantage. The best cards to retrieve using King BranSpawn King Bran Deploy: Discard up to 3 cards from your Deck and Strengthen all Units among them by 1. Then shuffle your deck.   would be your draw mechanics. Birna BranDeploy: Move a Unit from your opponent's Graveyard to yours. Every turn, at the start of your turn, Damage self by 1 and Units adjacent to this Unit by 2. and ErmionDeploy: Draw the top 2 cards from your Deck, then Discard 2 cards (can be Golds) from your Hand. are your main targets, but if you’ve already used them then (depending on the match-up) Dimeritium BombChoose 3 adjacent Units (can be Golds) and Reset them. If any are Gold, Demote them first. and other tech cards like Restoration and SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit.   are your other options, as the other cards in your deck are basically fodder.

Round 3: If you’ve made you opponent lose all, or most of their advantage then you are in great shape! In round 3 you want to have at least a copy of Restoration, SigrdrifaDeploy: Resurrect a Unit. or Queensgaurd as you will have at least an OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. on board. I tend to save CerysAfter 4 Units are Resurrected on your side while this Unit is in the Graveyard, Resurrect it. for this round just incase my opponent has Borkh Three Jackdaws, ScorchDestroy all the Highest Units. or some form of weather. Your last round will have been dictated by what rounds you’ve won previously, and how much advantage you have going into the third round.

Substitutes: If you have MorkvargWhenever this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Resurrect it and Weaken it by half its Power (rounding up). instead of OlgierdWhen this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Weaken it by half (rounding up). At the start of Rounds 2 and 3, Resurrect this Unit if it is in the Graveyard. then by all means replace him! I don’t like the fact that MorkvargWhenever this Unit is Discarded or Destroyed, Resurrect it and Weaken it by half its Power (rounding up). gives you opponent too much advantage if you copy it with OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. (as this is the main objective of the deck).

If you don’t have CerysAfter 4 Units are Resurrected on your side while this Unit is in the Graveyard, Resurrect it. then Geralt is another good (budget) option. Non-budget options could include HjalmarDeploy: Spawn the Lord of Undvik on the leftmost side of the opposite row. Geralt: IgniDeploy: Destroy all the Highest Units on the opposite row if that row totals 20 or more Power. or RegisAfter 2 turns, at the start of your turn, Boost self by 7 if you are winning the Round. . The deck honestly isn’t very budget friendly as you need OperatorDeploy: Choose a Bronze Unit in your Hand and create a base copy of it in both players' Hands. for the flavor of this deck to work. If you do have any ideas on budget worthy replacements let me know!

Happy Gwenting!

Why Ciri? I think Lugos could work way better 🙂 But the deck is really great

Ciri was for the card advantage. After the patch Lugos was ok but nothing sucked more then having to play him after top decking the last card in the last round.
